Okechuwu Iwundu
Okechuwu Iwundu is gifted and muti-talented in the visual and performing arts.
He has been a guest artist at the Austin Singers' Concert,
Soulsongs to Celebrate Black History.
During this performance, a percussion ensemble of African
instruments accompanied the Austin Singers,
as they performed some of the most exciting
repertoire from the African and African American traditions.

in African dialects. Along with other University of Mary Hardin-Baylor performance studies
students,

lit oil lamps in their memory.
Further, he displayed his paintings with
African themes and described his work to the audience.
He has performed at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor a production he wrote
in which
Okechuwu performed the story of his father, Nigerian Professor Mattias Iwundu.
He has also performed African poetry for
the Austin, Texas television station, Texas Nafas.
He has been the artist for a BellNet,
peer-mentoring web site and CD,
which has been designed
to discourage substance abuse.
He is also an outstanding visual artist. Some of his paintings have been
hung at UMHB.
